PNC statement to Excel
Virtual Wallet statements print more numbers per row than other banks — amount, running balance, and sometimes an available balance that already accounts for pending holds. Only one of those belongs in a ledger.
Column layout
PNC checking and Virtual Wallet spend accounts print four columns.
| Account type | Date column | Description column | Amount column | Balance column |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PNC checking / Virtual Wallet | Date | Description | Amount | Balance |
Available versus posted balance
The available balance nets off card holds and pending transfers, which is why it can differ from the statement ledger. The converter reads the running balance column, so the sheet reconciles with the statement instead of with the app.
Page furniture that must not become rows
PNC repeats several things across pages:
- The balance summary rows at the top of page one.
- The continued table header that restarts the ledger on page two.
- Footnote text about overdraft policy, printed in the amount column band.
Questions
Is Virtual Wallet supported?
Yes. Spend, Reserve and Growth sub-accounts use the same four-column layout; each statement converts separately.
Why does my balance column not match the app?
The app shows available after pending activity; the statement shows the posted balance. Both are correct for their own moment in time.
Can I convert a PNC credit card statement?
Yes — one amount column, no balance column, purchases negative and payments positive.
