Chase statements

Chase bank statement to Excel

Chase checking statements print as four columns — date, description, amount, balance — but the description column wraps onto a second line on long merchants, which is where most converters fall apart. This one rejoins those lines before it builds the spreadsheet.

What a Chase statement actually looks like

The layout differs between deposit accounts and credit cards, and the converter handles both without you choosing a mode first.

The three things that break Chase PDFs

If a converter gives you a mangled sheet for a Chase file, it is almost always one of these:

  • Long merchant names wrap onto a second visual line — read as two rows, you get a transaction with a blank date and a blank amount.
  • The page header (account number, statement period) repeats on every page and lands in the middle of your transaction data.
  • Check payments print the check number on its own line above the description, which shifts the amount column.

How to download the statement from Chase

Sign in, open the account, choose Statements and documents, pick the period, and download the PDF. Any period works — the converter reads up to 30 pages at once, which covers most annual pulls.

Questions

Does it work with Chase credit card statements, not just checking?

Yes. Credit card statements have no balance column, so that column comes out empty rather than guessed. Transaction and post dates both appear in the source; the row keeps the transaction date.

Chase statements are password protected — does that matter?

Yes. Remove the password first (open it in a PDF reader and re-save, or print to PDF). The converter reads the file directly and cannot open encrypted PDFs.

Can I convert a year of Chase statements at once?

One file at a time, up to 30 pages each. A monthly Chase statement runs 3 to 6 pages, so 6 to 10 months fit in a single conversion.

Try it on your own statement

No account, no card, no email. Convert one file and check the rows against the original.
